Urinary Tract Infections
Recurring UTIs post menopause and post hysterectomy are very common, this is the effect of a rapid or sometimes sudden decline in oestrogen.
Signs and symptoms of UTIs can be obvious in the form of cloudy urine, painful burning sensations on urination, but they can often be less obvious like confusion or brain fog.
The bladder and urethra thin and become weak due to a decline in oestrogen, causing you to urinate more often, which in turn can create a higher risk and environment for infection.
A UTI should never be left untreated, if you are concerned you may have a UTI book in with your GP to test.
