Rogue Hairs
Women in their peri menopause may begin noticing stray hairs on their face. High Androgens cause a strange phenomenon in women where by the hair on the head will thin, but hairs may sprout on the cheeks, chin or upper lip.
Androgens are hormones which contribute to growth and reproduction in men and women. For women, they can also account for hair growth on their face. Things like, stress, genetics and excess body fat can all be factors for high androgens.
PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), insulin resistance or high blood sugar can also be a contributing factor in the presence of rogue hairs. It is extremely important to test for these issues.
The odd rouge hair is not uncommon, excess growth should be explore further.
