Magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral with a vast range of benefits that have very positive effects. It is known to improve mood, support sleep, prevent migraines, prevent cardiovascular disease, support bone health, reduce pain and cramping and help fight type-2 diabetes.

Chronic physical or mental stress as well as alcohol, poor diet & caffeine significantly depletes the body of magnesium.

Although magnesium is an important mineral our bodies do not naturally produce it and we therefore rely on external sources.  Unfortunately, due to poor quality soil in most parts of the world, even our food sources are now deficient in magnesium, and so it is difficult to get adequate amounts into our diets, therefore supplementing is really the best way for us to reap the vast known benefits.

The menopause transition phase can bring on anxiety, disrupted sleep and increased stress levels as well as other symptoms like leg cramping and sheer exhaustion. Magnesium has been shown to improve peri to post menopause symptoms, it regulates the nervous system, keeping our systems calm and allowing us to sleep and cope better all round.

Eating leafy vegetables, whole grains, avocado & cashews can increase the levels of magnesium in our bodies, and it is advisory to consider topping this up with magnesium supplements.  Always choose the cleanest supplements available.
